In these areas we belong to the world top. We seek to achieve the same level with future products and services. We want to be seen as a reliable partner that contributes to the success of our clients’ missions in a solution-driven and targeted manner. Airbus Netherlands B.V. designs and builds solar arrays to power up satellites during all the phases of the mission. Our solar arrays need to be properly designed in such a way to provide the necessary power to the satellite and payloads, and able to sustain all the mechanical and thermal loads during all the phases of the mission. We are using our years of experience and the knowledge we have acquired to make new things possible in this field.
You will be part of a team that supports mainly the design of new Solar Arrays. Duties include designing via CAD the space products, considering the requirements of our customers which always differ from one mission to another. This to be performed in close collaboration with Lead and Systems Engineers, our expert mechanical and thermal engineering team, the Material&Process department and our experienced Assembly&Integration Team.

Werkzaamheden

Meet the team:
Our Engineers have the privilege of working on complex space missions which push forward human knowledge. If you’re interested in designing, creating, and testing the present and future of Airbus products, join our mission!

Your challenges:
Perform all the necessary FEM analysis so as to assess that the Solar Array wing is able to sustain all the mechanical loads associated to the mission, both in stowed and deployed configurations
Detail results of FEA analysis in technical reports
Liaise with Design and Thermal engineering team, and other appropriate Airbus departments to come up with optimum design solutions.
Participate and/or provide technical support during Reviews
Ensure that final design allows successful integration of each design element with the product as a whole.
Accept broad objectives with agreed deadlines, but establish the tasks required and how they should be completed.
Ensure application of best practices and identify the need for enhanced processes, methods, and tools.
Ensure all tasks and activities are correctly executed within time and allowable budget, in such a way to meet quality level required by our customers.
